The Engineers’ Day was celebrated on 15th September 2025 with great enthusiasm to mark the birth anniversary of the eminent engineer and Bharat Ratna awardee, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The event was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, at BLDEA’S Vachana Pitamaha Dr P G Halakatti College of engineering and technology Vijayapur . Under the guidance of Dr S G Patil, Head of the Department, and coordinated by Prof. Priyanka Biradar the program began with a formal inaugural ceremony at 3:00 PM. The dignitaries were welcomed with bouquets, followed by the lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Sir M. Visvesvaraya. In the welcome address, Dr S G Patil highlighted the achievements of Sir Visvesvaraya and emphasized the importance of engineers in shaping the nation’s growth and development.

The Chief Guest, Shri Prakash Dolli , Rtd Deputy Chief Engineer PWD, Karnataka, delivered a keynote lecture on the theme “Engineering for Sustainable Future”. The address inspired students to adopt innovation, responsibility, and ethical values.

The Presidential remarks were delivered by our esteemed Principal, Dr. Manjunath P, who appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing the event. In his address, the Principal emphasized the need for engineers to integrate technical expertise with social responsibility, creativity, and ethical values.
